Chandler second-grader Keton Dietz won the Reno World’s Championship over the weekend and is now the top-ranked wrestler in the country for his age and weight.
The tournament is held in Reno, Nev., most years but was moved to Tulsa for 2020.
It’s the third leg of a tournament series for youth national rankings.
Keaton got pins in his first two matches, won the semifinals in a tech fall in the second period and won the finals with a third-period fall.
Keaton is also a twotime state champion.
Keaton is seven years old and going into the second grade.
He is the son of Clint and Heather Dietz of Chandler and the grandson of David and Ann Sitton of Chandler and Sharon Dietz of Stillwater.
His coaches are Josh Powel, Clint Dietz, Jason Pierce and Floyd Lorne.
