The temperature showed 97 degrees on the iPhone app when Meeker and Stroud teed it up Friday night for the first football game of the COVID era. Things were a little different - only one captain per team going to midfield for the coin toss, no handshakes after the game, some of the officials wearing facemasks. Once they kicked it off, though, it was football as usual. In the top photo, Meeker running back Caden Wolford watches his helmet bounce across the end zone after he scored a touchdown. Above left, Stroud quarterback Chasen Neuman (15) breaks loose for a gain in the first period. Above right, Maleah Blankenship joined the Pride of Meeker for its halftime show with her trumpet appropriately bell-covered. For the game story and more, see Page 2B Photos/Brian Blansett
