Roy Dene Nikkel of McLoud, Okla., was born in Elk City, Okla., and died Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was 84 years old.
Nikkel, the son of Walter and Ruth Lau Nikkel, married Elfrige Seals on September 5, 1959.
He graduated from high school in 1955 in Alfalfa, Okla., and earned a degree from Oklahoma State University in animal husbandry. He worked at the Oklahoma Health Department as an environmental specialist and was a member of First Baptist Church of McLoud.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth Kight; two brothers, Bob Nikkel and Jerry Nikkel; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife Elfrige Nikkel; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Nikki Nikkel and Bryan Nikkel; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of McLoud Mary Buzzard building fund.
