Town Talk

Yes, the golf course is going to happen.

People are asking me if we’ve started on it yet. I’m sure it’s because they see no movement at the property but yes, Town Talk is working on it.

The main thing we have been waiting on is enough good weather several days in a row. We need to do some work on the property now that the weather is cooperating. The course itself is still on schedule to arrive sometime next week. It will be here waiting for us when we get everything else in place.

Just want you to know we are still on track. Again, Town Talk appreciates everyone who has contributed. We still receive a few donations every week.

Patton’s Produce and Unique OK will be filling our flowerpots on Main Street very soon. Both businesses donate to Town Talk so please support them by shopping locally. When you are in the store, thank them for helping beautify Main Street.

I heard lots of good things about Ruby’s coffees and cinnamon rolls this past week. Ruby’s is the latest addition to Stroud’s eating establishments and is owned and operated by Mandy Clark. Mandy is planning a full opening in the next couple of weeks. She is also in charge of our Town Talk Farmer’s Markets. Contact her if you are interested in having a booth at the market.

You have probably noticed that there has been an outage with some of the lights on our Main Street digital sign. The part has been ordered to repair it. Also, our Main Street clock is not working but City Manager Bob Pearman is aware of it. Thanks to all you citizens who keep us informed when you notice these things.

Plans are still underway to outline our Main Street in solar lights. The fire department is going to help us put the lights up but have been busy with grass fires.

As soon as the grass turns green, and they have a little time on their hands we will begin that project.

Thank goodness spring has finally arrived. Town Talk will be back on the streets completing projects and helping keep things looking “spiffy.” Let me know if you’d like to be a part of our downtown work nights and I’ll put you on the contact list.

It takes all of us working together.

Have a great week and remember to shop and dine local……………… first!
