Thomas Morris Jr.

The Rev. Thomas Morris Jr. was born November 23, 1934, in Pawnee, Okla., and died Wednesday, September 9, 2020. He was 85 years old.

Morris, the son of Thomas Sr. and Bessie (Grant) Morris, married Beatrice Devore on December 22, 1962, in Shawnee, Okla.

He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Okla.

He was also a preacher at North Rock Creek Assembly of God in Shawnee.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Carla Morris; and four sisters, Mae Warrior, Caroline Kisketon, Ruth Nullake and Celestia Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Morris; seven sons, Ronnie Morris, G.K. Morris, Russell Morris, Greg Morris, Michael Tsotaddle, Marvin Thurman and George Thurman; four daughters, Tina Morris, Bessie Morris, Marilyn Thurman and Darla Tsotaddle; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 14, 2020, at First Assembly Church of God in Stroud with Pastor Jeromye Jackson officiating. Burial followed at Stroud Cemetery with care services provided by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
