The Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well-Being(LCPCW) hosted a leadership summit and fundraising event in September to help the county’s youth. The Mentoring Leadership Summit was held on Sep. 13 at Camp Cargill in Sparks.

Trial for Wellston attorney, accomplice continued

Jury trials scheduled for a Wellston attorney and her reported accomplice on drug related charges and a firearms count have been continued until the fall. Formal felony charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 6, 2022 against Debra Dawn Campbell, 59.

Driver pleads guilty in drug case

A motorist on the Turner Turnpike charged with trafficking in illegal drugs has pleaded guilty and handed a state prison term with all but the first year suspended. Gregory Johnson, 23, with no address listed, was formally charged Jan.

Hearing in Carney man’s death

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for an Iowa man charged in the connection with the death of a Carney man and a pre-preliminary hearing has been continued for a Wellston woman in the case. Each faces three felonies. Each is being held in the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler without bond.

Meeker school board approves bus

Meeker Board of Education members this week adopted a resolution for the annual school election and approved purchase of a 71-passenger bus. They also approved holding graduation to be held at Camp Cargill on May 10, 2024.

Judge should be removed

The Oklahoma State Supreme Court filed a petition Tuesday seeking the removal of Lincoln County District Judge Traci Soderstrom following an investigation by the Council on Judicial Complaints. The petition states that Soderstrom “engaged in conduct prohibited by the Oklahoma Constitution.
