Early voting for the Nov. 5 General Election begins next Wednesday, Oct. 30, a day earlier than normal, and Lincoln County voters have a local proposition to decide.

Trials continued for McLoud trio

Jury trials have been continued for two McLoud men facing three felony charges each in connection with trafficking illegal drugs, cultivation of a controlled substance and possession of firearms during commission of a felony.

Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week voted to apply for a Rural Economic Action Plan grant from the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District for road improvements.

Manslaughter case

A California woman has pleaded innocent to a manslaughter charge as the result of a fatal traffic collision.A formal count of first degree manslaughter was filed on March 22 this year in Lincoln County District against Ariel Navarro, 32, of Banning, Calif.

Commissioners approve agreement on building

By Mike McCormick Staff Writer Lincoln County commissioners this week approved an agreement with Henson Construction for the new OSU Extension Office at the fairgrounds.In the motion it was noted that the agreement is approved subject to any adjustments by the District Attorney’s Office.

Driver sentenced

A woman who was charged in January of 2023 with discharging a fireman from her vehicle while driving on the Turner Turnpike has pleaded guilty and been sentenced, almost all of the term suspended.Formal felony charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Jan.

$1 million to water district

Lincoln County Rural Water District No. 3 received a $1 million grant from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) on Oct. 15. The funds will be used to improve the district’s water infrastructure, according to a press release from the OWRB.

McLoud drama heads to state

Davenport rolls

The Davenport Bulldogs put it all together and pounded the Olive Wildcats 47-0 in a contest on the road that was over by halftime.The win improved the Bulldogs’ record to 2-5 on the season and 1-1 in district.Coach John Greenfield said, “We finally got it all together.
