Commissioners approve funding

The Lincoln County Commissioners approved funding for a Municipal Road Drilling Activity Fund Project (MRDAFP) for the Town of Davenport at their meeting on Feb. 17.The County is contributing $120,000 from the use tax fund and will approve the resolution at a later meeting.

State wrestling

McLoud’s girls won their second consecutive wrestling state championship over the weekend and picked up three individual state titles.Remy Whitney won at 100 pounds, Carli Sisco repeated at 105 pounds and Kendra Perrien won at 145.

Commissioners approve road project

The Lincoln County Commissioners approved a CBRI Resolution for District 3 in their regular meeting on March 2.The resolution will provide District 3 with $356,000 out of the CBRI fund to fix a mile and a half of road, with the full project costing approximately $446,000.

New building for Emergency Management

Lincoln County Emergency Management has a new home.The old Tool Time Rental in Chandler was recently purchased using grant funds and Use Tax funds on Feb. 12.

Letter to the editor

To the Editor: I was involved in a domestic violence case, and to my surprise, my OIDS attorney never once asked me what my side of the story was. In fact, I didn’t even speak to the investigator on my case until four months in jail.

Prague students graduate

Two students from Prague have recently graduated from two major universities.Kara Stanley earned a Master’s in Instructional Design and Learning Technology from the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater at winter commencement in December.

Wellston chief resigns

Wellston Police Chief Alf Hancock has resigned from his position, according to the Town of Wellston.Hancock had been chief since 2019. Shawn Stewart will be the interim police chief.
