Events to honor former resident Ronald Crews

The state of Oklahoma will recognize former Chandler resident Ronald Crews on Oct. 21 in Chandler’s Tilghman Park. Family and friends will gather at 2:00 p.m.

Homecoming hallways

Meeker’s homecoming is Friday against the Kellyville Ponies, so this week the high school classes decorated the hallways in what has become a school tradition. The theme this was “All roads lead to victory.

Museum mural

Famed mural artist Bob Palmer and his team from Palmer Studios painted a mural at the Lincoln County Historical Society Museum of Pioneer History on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3 as part of ongoing renovations in the museum’s Children’s Historical Resource Center.

Wellston Fair Hall of Fame

Lifelong Wellston resident Kristin Hunt received the Wellston Community Fair Hall of Fame Award at the 2022 Wellston Fair. The Wellston Fair Hall of Fame award is presented each year to an individual who has dedicated many years of service and support to the Wellston Fair.

No brews at Meeker Pumpkin Festival

Meeker’s Board of Trustees decided during their meeting this week there will be no beer tent at this year’s Pumpkin Festival in October. They also set the date for Trick or Treat night in October.

Shouse, Hessman promoted at Vision

Derrick Shouse has been promoted to Branch Manager of Vision Bank Meeker and Credit Administration Officer Jennifer Hessman to Team Lead, Document Preparation. Shouse has worked for Vision Bank for 10 years. He is a graduate of Meeker High School. He and his wife Marisa are the parents of Mikaylie.
