UCO fall grads announced

Officials at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond announced the names of that will graduate during the Fall 2021 Commencement Ceremonies Dec. 17-18 in Central’s Hamilton Field House. Among the graduates are the following students from our coverage area.

The Stroud Masons teamed up with the Stroud School foundation and sponsored the Parkview Fall Carnival on October 28. The Masons presented a check in the amount of 4,000.00 to the Stroud School Foundation. The check represented 2,000.00 raised at the Carnival and 2,000.

The winners in the Stroud Ugly Sweater contest were Conner Massey and grandfather Steve Massey in the group division, Jordan Lee in Youth and Savannah Jordan in Adult. They Masseys won Best in Show. Each received $50.

School board filing opens

The three-day filing period for school board offices opened Monday morning and closed Wednesday evening. Those who have filed for offices in Lincoln County through Tuesday afternoon include: Each is for Office No. 2 and a five-year term unless otherwise noted. Agra: Kyle A. Wolff, incumbent.

Hart inducted into collegiate honor society

Chloe Hart of Chandler was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Hart was initiated at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Fines waived for food donations

The Chandler Public Library is having a food drive. Bring non-perishable food items to the library from now until Jan. 14, 2022. Fines will be waived for previously returned overdue books or for overdue books returned along with the food items. This does not apply to lost book fees.

McLoud approves bids

The McLoud City Council, meeting as the Public Works Authority, approved bids for several sewer-related projects during its most recent meeting. Authority members also approved a budget amendment to cover those expenditures.

Chamber ribbon-cutting

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting last week for Safety First Driving Academy, 346071 E Highway 66 in Chandler.
