Man pleads no contest in gun in jail case

A man who pulled a gun on a detention officer while being booked at the Lincoln County Jail in September 2024 has pleaded no contest to four counts, including attempt to kill.

Severe storms hit Lincoln County

Severe thunderstorms roared through Lincoln County Fridaynight, causing damage to the Chandlerarea. Among the worst, a building at the historic Chandler Baseball Camp was destroyed.The first round of storms hit the area just before 11 p.m., causing most of the damage.

Storytellers show all under the Same Sky

Saturday night was quite different from a normal production at Lincoln County On-Stage.Half the chairs were taken out, allowing for tables. They were grouped together more like a cafe or bistro with little signs on each, displaying a name. In the back, someone worked on pouring wine.

Stroud school board hires new HS principal

During a special meeting June 15, the Stroud Board of Education unanimously approved Lesa Elerick as Stroud High School principal and several other personnel moves for the 2026-27 school year.The board also hired Charlotte Couch as a middle school and high school teacher and band program assistant.

ALuther man will appear for a pre-preliminary hearing on July 23 in an assault and battery case.Willie Cowan, 40, was charged with one felony count of domestic abuse assault and battery on May 13 after an incident with his roommate that occurred on May 8, according to the court filing.

The Chandler Fire Department held its 19th annual golf tournament on Saturday at the Chandler Municipal Golf Course. The tournament had 11 teams participate this year, with prizes for first, second and third place teams, along with the longest drive, closet to the pin and hole in one.

A man from Agra was charged for failing to notify the Oklahoma Department of Corrections Sex and Violent Offender Registration and/or local law enforcement of a change of address, according to court documents.

911 Trust sets 2026-27 budget

The Lincoln County E-911 Trust Authority approved a $771,552 operating budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year during a brief meeting June 22.The budget projects $836,000 in revenue, $64,448 more than planned expenses.
