Chandler Board of Education members hired a full-time library aide and approved the district mileage reimbursement rate for the calendar year 2026 at $0.72.5 per mile.They hired Shannon Smith as a full time library aide, School Supt. Scott Baade said.

Applications open for scholarships

The Oklahoma Hall of Fame has opened up applications for its annual Oklahoma Scholarship Competition. According to a press release from the organization, more than $770,000 in cash scholarships and tuition grants are available.

WLTs go to 16-0

Wellston’s Lady Tigers kept their unbeaten record intact and captured their third straight Davenport Hardwood Classic championship with a 27-21 win over Meeker Saturday night.The WLTs are 16-0 and ranked No. 10 in Class A, while Meeker goes to 5-7.

A Stroud man facing 408 counts of felony animal cruelty will return to court next week for another felony disposition docket.Jerry Hine appeared before District Judge Sarah Bridge on Jan. 13 on the felony disposition docket with his attorney, Kimberly Miller, who requested that they return on Jan.
