The Meeker School Board has approved the final 2020-2021 Estimate of Needs.

Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt explained to the board the Estimate of Needs being finalized during the meeting Monday was the exact same document he presented to them in September they had approved.

“It was sent to the Lincoln County Excise Board and was sent back to us the same,” he informed them.

The board also heard a brief presentation from the award-winning Meeker FFA program. Logan Johns, Ag instructor and FFA advisor, visited with the board about the chapter winning the National FFA Model of Excellence, making them the best FFA chapter in the nation, he said.

Johns said the award was the first in Meeker history. He also pointed out, “Meeker is the first chapter in Oklahoma to ever win this award,” adding, “we’ll gladly claim that title.”

In their principals’ reports, Ginger Pritchard, Meeker Education Center/Alt. Ed Principal, said, “Overall, we have 128 students, K-12, that are taking advantage of the virtual and blended learning opportunities.”

High School Principal Brad Buxton advised the board the annual Veterans Day program had been canceled this year, but something was being done virtually to help honor the veterans.

High school enrollment totals about 229.
