The number of new positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties has risen by more than 300 since the last report, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
One new death also has been reported in Lincoln County, according to the OSDH.
The OSDH has begun reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from Aug. 11 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, Aug. 17.
There have been 133 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19, and that is the same number as the last report.
Lincoln County now has 75 reported deaths. The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County rose by 198 and in Lincoln County they increased by 113, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 311 from the most recent report by the OSDH.
The previous report had that number increasing by 282.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 3,622. It was 3,509 at the last report.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County now stands at 9,069. Last report it was 8,871.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 12,691.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 12,028, up by 223 the OSDH said.
In Pottawatomie County, 8,637 have recovered and 3,391 have recovered in Lincoln County.
The OSDH reported as of Aug. 11 statewide, 500,311 people have tested positive, compared to 486,232 at the last report. There have been 7,594 Oklahoma deaths, last week’s reporting showed 7,531. And active cases stand at 20,593. Last report they were 15,540.
