Lincoln County commissioners Monday implemented a countywide burn ban, meaning no outside burning will be allowed for 14 days beginning that day.
Their action came on a unanimous vote during an emergency meeting that was held at the conclusion of their regular meeting on Monday.
District 3 and Commission Chairman Lee Doolen was joined by District 2 Commissioner Marlon Miller and District 1 Commissioner Carl Munson in approving the burn ban.
Doolen explained all that it takes is a majority of the fire chiefs in the county to be in favor of a ban for the commissioners to implement one. And commissioners were advised the majority were in favor.
Pottawatomie County commissioners also on Monday took the same action, implementing a countywide burn ban as well.
Pottawatomie County Emergency Management Director Chad Larman confirmed that county’s burn ban which also will last for 14 days.
Commissioners, in their regular meeting, spent about 45 minutes in executive session to discuss applicant requirements and salary pay for a new safety director.
When they returned to open session, they voted to approve the job description and appointed VyrgleWilson, the facilities manager, also as the new safety director and raised his salary $200 a month effective Nov. 1.
Commissioners also adopted a resolution and verification authorizing application for the American Rescue Plan of America grant from the OklahomaWater Resources Board.
It was explained the county could apply for up to $1 million with a match from the county required.
Commissioners also were advised that individual water districts can also apply for these grants.
Commissioners also approved ARPA fund expenditures of $95,000 for a sewer lift station in Agra.
In other business, commissioners: Amended the Financial Statement for Fiscal Year 2022.
Approved a contract between the County Clerk’s Office and JD Young.
Approved a Juvenile Detention Services Agreement with Garfield County.
Approved a Mutual CooperationAgreement with the City of Chandler.
Approved County Deed and Transcript Proceedings for the sale of County property at Block 2, lots 4-6 in the Donaldson Addition in Stroud.
Adopted a resolution for equipment from the County Road Machinery and Equipment Revolving Fund.
Adopted a resolution authorizing additional County Bridge Road and Improvement-105 funds for a paving project on Sandy Lane in District 2.
Took no action on appointing a medical clinic to be used for work-related injuries and accidents.
Approved REAP grant applications. Approved an affidavit declaring Melanie Lane in the Neu-Alsip Addition a public road and open to all public use.
Approved five lease purchase extension agreements for 2019 John Deere 672G graders in District 3.
Also approved a Certificate of Compliance for Bentley and Gettler, a location change COC for Frost Kings LLC and a Waste Disposal COC for AAA Waste Services LLC.
