The number of COVID-19 deaths in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties increased by only four compared to last week, and new positive cases rose only a little more than 200, the most recent Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
There were three new deaths attributed to the virus in Lincoln County. One of the deaths occurred in Pottawatomie County, according to the OSDH.
The OSDH has begun reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from Oct. 27 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, Nov 2.
There now have been 190 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19.
Lincoln County has 100 reported deaths.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County rose by 172 and in Lincoln County they increased by 48, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 220, the most recent report by the OSDH stated. The previous report had that number increasing by 283.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 4,887. It was 4,839 at the last report.
