Meeker Board of Education members this week agreed to offer contracts to several personnel and accepted resignations from four others.
They also voted to adjust student meal prices for the 2023-2024 school year to meet the required guidelines through the USDA school lunch program.
Board members approved updates to several policies.
They voted to offer contracts for the 20232024 school year to Scott Bromley, elementary school teacher and Amiah Wolford, for In School Detention.
Adjunct teachers hired include: Pat Hargus, government; Debbie Flowers, elementary music; Jocie Wilson, 3rd grade; Melissa Dozier, English I, III and IV; Bailey Vaughn, middle school physical education, and Alex Newport, 6th grade English.
Resignations accepted are Jordan Sullins, elementary teacher, Tammy Green, elementary school cafeteria, Jeff Bruton, ISD, and Richard Comstock, middle school custodian.
In their reports, High School Principal Brad Buxton informed the board enrollment is up to 238 students. “We’re excited,” he noted, pointing to several activities beginning, among them softball games and football practice.
Middle School Principal Matt Jones advised board members enrollment stands at 177. “We’re 23 up from last year,” he said.
Elementary Principal Sarah Flowers told the board, “We’re at 327 in enrollment right now. We had a huge turnout for Meet the Teachers night,” she added.
Board members approved updates to the District’s CLEP Plan.
They approved a contract for Secondary Career and Technology Education programs for 2023-2024.
They also updated the district’s tobacco policy.
Regarding adult and student meal prices, there was no change in the prices for adult breakfast and adult lunch.
Elementary breakfast will be $1.25 and High School and Middle School breakfast will be $1.50.
Elementary student lunch will be $2.60 and High School and Middle School lunch prices will be $2.75.
