The Stroud Board of Education during a recent special meeting approved a bid package for the new Stroud baseball complex.
Board members voted 4-0 to approve all bids packages associated with the base bid package and allow Ross Group to enter into contract with the recommended lowest bids not to exceed $4,131,630.
They also voted 4-0 to authorize Ross Group to advertise for the remaining bid packages and enter into contract with the recommended low bidders not to exceed the bid package for the new baseball fa cility.
Stroud School Supt. Joe Van Tuyl explained the Ross Group is the construction management company that has been hired to run and oversee the project.
He further mentioned the bids that were approved during the Dec. 22 special board meeting were opened on Thursday, Dec. 17, as published they would be.
The bids approved were the lowest ones as specifically outlined in the proposal submitted, he said.
Van Tuyl said the Ross Group will now additionally advertise for the remaining bid packages that weren’t bid on in the original packages.
Construction on the more than $4 million baseball complex hopefully will be completed by the end of 2021, Van Tuyl said.
He pointed out the complex is not a part of any existing bond issue and has been in the planning stages for two to three years.
