Absentee ballot deadline close

The deadline to request absentee ballots by mail for the June 16 election is 5 p.m. Monday, June 1.

Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Dena Jo Bromley said absentee voting is available to all voters in Oklahoma.

“In Oklahoma, no excuse is needed to vote by absentee ballot, and it’s easy to apply,” Bromley said. “Voters can submit their application online, in person, by fax, mail or email.”

Voters can apply online through the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp. Applications are also available at the Lincoln County Election Board office or can be downloaded at oklahoma.gov/elections.

Bromley said that in most cases, it is against the law to request or submit an absentee ballot on behalf of another person.

Voters with questions about absentee voting can contact the Lincoln County Election Board at 405-258-1349 or lincolncounty@elections.ok.gov. More information is also available through the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections.

The Lincoln County Election Board is located at 811 Manvel Ave., Suite 15, in Chandler. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
