Alpha Iota Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Tuesday, November 14th in the home of Marilyn Young. Kim Leatherwood gave the devotional based on an article by Jill Donovan, founder of Rustic Cuff. In honor of Oklahoma’s birthday the answer to roll call was to name your favorite Oklahoma vacation spot. Twelve members were in attendance. President, Marilyn Young, presided over the business meeting. She assigned mentors to the new members. Linda Newby gave the treasurer’s report. Initiation was held for new members, Liz Golliver, Jennifer Green, Mary Mascho and Kristi Peery. Shonda Brisco joined by transfer. Red roses were presented to the initiates. School supplies were collected for two new teachers in the Chandler Public School system. Children’s books were collected for donation to Lincoln County Department of Human Services. For the evening’s program members shared a favorite book or podcast they enjoyed. Marilyn Young and Becky Stone were hostesses.
The next meeting of Alpha Iota Chapter will be January 11, 2024 at Chandler High School.
