Chandler school board hires teachers

Chandler’s Board of Education during its meeting this week hired three new personnel and accepted the resignation of another.

Scott Baade, who officially began his duties as Chandler School superintendent on July 1, said the board, following an executive session, hired Madison Deeds as the new Secondary Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA advisor.

He said the board also hired Sarah Gross as an elementary teacher and employed Kimberly Dabbs as a Title VI tutor.

Board members accepted the resignation of Stuart Symes, Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, Baade said.

Approved a request to the State Department of Education to have the 2022-2023 school year based on 1,080 hours and 165 days of instruction.

Agreed to a memorandum of understanding with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for a school resource officer for the 2022-2023 school year.

Authorized Baade to act as the Chandler School District Purchasing agent for FY23.

Authorized the superintendent to act as the main point of contact for redistricting assistance of local school board voting districts through the Oklahoma House of Representatives and will communicate the necessary information to the Chandler School Board.

Adopted a resolution for Schools and Libraries Universal Services (E-Rate for the 2022-2023 school year. The resolution authorizes the filing of a form and applications for funding year 2022-2023 and the payment of the applicant’s share upon approval of funding and receipt services.

Authorized the superintendent to act as the district agent for food commodities, national school lunch and milk programs and the filing of all other records as required by the U.S. Department of Education for FY23.

Agreed to a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Career-Tech for funding of the Ag Education, Business and Information Technology Education and Family Consumer Sciences for school year 2022-2023.

Approved the request for deregulation of library staffing at East Side, Park Road and secondary libraries for the 2022-2023 school year.

Agreed to a contract with Kellogg & Sovereign Consulting, LLC for E-rate management services.

Approved Celeste Spruill as an adjunct teacher for four hours of 7th grade math.

Approved Robert Gray as an adjunct teacher for four hours of Oklahoma history.

Approved the encumbrances for 12-month employees and summer help for FY23.
