The number of new deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19 has risen by one, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
No new deaths have occurred in Lincoln County since the last report, according to the OSDH.
The agency has quit reporting gender and age group of those who have passed away due to COVID-19.
The OSDH recently began reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily. The agency has stated the reason is because of the decline in COVID-19 cases.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from June 2 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, June 8.
There now have been 131 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19.
Lincoln County has 72 reported deaths.
The number of positive cases has risen just a bit in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties, OSDH figures show.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County rose by nine and in Lincoln County they increased by three, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 12 from the most recent report by the OSDH.
The previous report had that number increasing by 14.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 3,252. It was 3,249 at the last report.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County now stands at 8,397. Last report it was 8,388.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 11,649.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 11,428 the OSDH said. In Pottawatomie County, 8,251 have recovered and 3,177 have recovered in Lincoln County.
The OSDH reported as of June, statewide 453,186 people have tested positive, there have been 7,316 Oklahoma deaths.
Active cases stood at 1,471.
The OSDH has stopped reporting total number of recovered statewide.
