Arrests in homicide

Two people have been arrested by Lincoln County deputies after possible human remains were discovered in the western part of Lincoln County.

Arrested were Janelle Brown, 39, and Clyde Clayton, 42. They were both taken into custody they were booked into the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler, each was held without bond.

The source said that on June 12 the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person, Brian Corey, of the Carney area. As the result of an ongoing investigation, “We discovered what we believe to be human remains on July 7,” the source reported.

Those remains were not able to be positively identified but were sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the source said.

Information from the OSBI stated the remains were handed over to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office for proper identification and said the investigation is on-going.
