The bond has been raised significantly for a landlord in Meeker accused of shooting at a Lincoln County deputy on New Years’s eve morning after the State Attorney General’s Office joined with the local District Attorney have in filing a motion concerning his bond.
Formal felony charges were filed against against Bobby Lee Raymond, 62, earlier this month including shooting with intent to kill and feloniously pointing a firearm. Raymond was shot and injured after he pointed a handgun at a Lincoln County deputy who had responded to a call that morning.
Bond for Raymond had originally set set at $$7,500. Following a recent bond hearing before District Judge Sarah Bridge, that bond was increased to $50,000. As a condition of the bond, Raymond was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims; possess no firearms or be in a location where firearms are present; consume no drugs or alcohol including no medicinal marijuana; all medications must be by prescription; Raymond is to submit to random drug screenings; a curfew is imposed; he is not to be out of the house before 6 a.m. or after 9 p.m.; he must give 24 hours notice if outside of curfew for doctor appointments; GPS monitor must be obtained by Wednesday. Jan. 21;and if Raymond fails to do so a no bond warrant will be issued.
The Sheriff’s Office is to transport to and from doctor’s appointments while in custody. He is remanded to custody. Judge Bridge set a pre-preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Fb. 26.
Misdemeanors filed against him include peeping tom and knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.
Count 1, shooting with intent to kill, Raymond is accused on Dec. 31, 2025 of shooting at Deputy Mason Rempe with a firearm, a 9 mm pistol, with the intent to kill Deputy Rempe.
In count 2, Raymond is charged on Dec. 31, 2025 with pointing a 9 mm pistole at Deputy Rempe for the purpose of threatening to or with intention of discharging the firearm with any malice or for injuring either through physical injury or mental or emotional intimidation of for purposes of whimsy or prank of in danger or otherwise.
Count 3 accuses Raymond on the same day by standing in the vicinity of a place of residence located 101152 S. 3376 Rd. in Meeker with the unlawful and willful intent to look upon the occupants inside in a clandestine manner.
Count 4 charges Raymond with concealing a 22 caliber pistol that had been stolen form parties unknown and defendant knew or had reasonable cause to believe the pistol had been stolen.
Raymond made his initial appearance on Jan. 8. His bond has been set at $7,500, but Attorney General Gentner Drummond has joined with local District Attorney Adam Panter in filing a motion for him to be held without bail or in the alternative to increase that bail.
A hearing on motion is set for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 16.
Lincoln County Sheriff Kevin Garrett reported his deputy was dispatched to 101152 S. 3376 Rd. in Meeker just before 8 a.m. The party who had contacted authorities stated the landlord was looking through the window.
The reporting party stated he was in the process of moving out and that it’s been an ongoing issue with the landlord, the sheriff said. He noted the landlord apparently didn’t knock on the door, that he just went to the window and was staring.
Garrett said that a little after 8 a.m. the deputy arrived at the scene and was met by the landlord, The deputy went to talk with the reporting party, then talked to the landlord who became upset at the deputy and then went inside his camper trailer.
The sheriff reported the landlord exited the trailer with a handgun and the landlord, identified as Bobby Lee Raymond was shot in his arm after the deputy fired shots at him.
Garrett stated Raymond went inside the camper. Backup units from Wellston and the Oklahoma Game Warden assisted the deputy going into the camper and arrested Raymond.
Raymond was transported to OU Medical Center.
Raymond was released from the hospital on Thursday, New Year’s Day, and then transported to the Lincoln County jail.
Garrett said the deputy is suspended with pay until cleared by the District Attorney’s Office.
Raymond appeared in court before District Judge Sarah Bridge on Friday and she set his bond at $7,500, the sheriff said.
