Chandler school board hires new principals

EMILY KALKA Editor A round of personnel decisions topped the agenda at the Chandler School Board regular meeting on Monday,May11,including the hiring of principals for East Side Elementary, the junior high and high school.

Robbie Rainwater was approved as the new high school principal, Lori Lile as the junior high principal and JanetTurner as the East Side principal.

Rainwater comes to Chandler from Carney High School, where he was a science teacher, according to a post on Chandler Public Schools’ social media. He previously worked as the principal at Guthrie Junior High and director of operations for a virtual charter school, and has a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s from Southwestern OklahomaStateUniversity.

Liles was previously the assistant principal for the elementary and middle schools in Cashion, and taught English, FACS and Leadership before that at Cashion, Deer Creek and Stillwater. She has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Science from OklahomaStateUniversity.

Turner has spent the last 14 years as the elementary principal at Maud Public Schools and was also previously the middle school principal. She has a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Science from East Central University.

The Board also approved the resignation of Fred Peery (high school government/ coach), Brandi Perkins (elementary counselor), Skylar Tate (Park Road teacher) and Ravyn Bevard (Park Road teacher).

Atotal of 66 professional staff and 13 temporary certified staff had their reemployment approved.

The Board approved a Resolution for Schools and Libraries Universal Services (E-Rate) for 202627, which authorizes the filing of an application for funding for the year and the payment of the applicant’s share after approval and receipt of services. They also approved an application for temporary appropriations for FY 2026-27, the third year of a three-year lease agreement with Ross Transportation and entry into an agreement with the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration to take part in the organization’s District Level Services.

They also approved several items with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) the Comprehensive Employment Service Agreement, continued policy services such as online policy hosting, continued Connections Communication Subscription, and District Membership.

The Board approved the East Central Oklahoma Online Consortium with Gordon Cooper Technology Center and a contract with Shelley Haley as website coordinator for the next school year.
