Charges of kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon have been dismissed against a Wellston man who had been previously convicted of several felonies.
Dallas Allen Steele, 36, was charged on April 12 in Lincoln County District Court with , with those felonies.
On that day, the state moved to dismiss the charges without costs. The court received the dismissal.
Court records show that Special Judge Emily Mueller had issued a protective order against Steele.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Adam Kallsnick at the time he was charged shows Steele has been convicted of at least 17 felonies in Oklahoma since 2007.
The supplemental information regarding prior convictions shows that Dallas Steele has been convicted in the District Courts of several counties in Oklahoma including Okmulgee, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and Garfield.
Among the convictions are at least four possession of firearm after former felony convictions.
