Charges filed in strangulation case

A $10,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man for allegedly assaulting a woman by strangulation in Agra.

Formal felony charges of domestic assault and battery by strangulation were filed in April in Lincoln County District Court against Randall Dwight Thompson, 52.

He is accused of choking Ashley Roe, identified as his girlfriend, on Jan. 23 this year in Agra in Lincoln County.

A probable cause affidavit filed by Agra Reserve Police Officer Bradley Wright, states he and Officer Brad Jackson responded to a scene just before 5 p.m. on Jan. 23 and made contact with the victim, Ashley Roe.

She informed the officers that her boyfriend Randall Thompson grabbed her arm and dragged her around, grabbing her by the neck with both hands. Roe further advised them that Thompson kicked her in the butt out the door and locked the door.

According to the affidavit, Roe wrote out a voluntary statement, stating the following events occurred. “Randall Thompson, my boyfriend, choked me and shoved me, threw me out the door and locked it.”

Officer Wright reported he observed on the right side of Roe’s neck what appeared to be two small bruises which ended with two whelps with small scratches inside each whelp.

The injuries on her neck, the officer stated, were about two inches in length. He said he also noticed reddening on her left arm near the elbow and what appeared to be reddening on the right side of her neck.
