The number of new positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties keeps climbing, the most recent Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.
Also, one new death has been reported in each county, according to the OSDH.
The OSDH has begun reporting the breakdown of deaths and new cases on a weekly basis rather than daily.
The agency is releasing that information on Wednesdays so the most recent numbers provided here are from Aug. 18 since this week’s edition went to press Tuesday night, Aug. 24.
There have been 134 deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to COVID-19, and that is one more since the last report.
Lincoln County now has 76 reported deaths, one up from last week.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County rose by 232 and in Lincoln County they increased by 134, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests jumped by 366 from the most recent report by the OSDH. The previous report had that number increasing by 311.
Lincoln County’s latest number is 3,756. It was 3,622 at the last report.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County now stands at 9,301. Last report it was 9,069.
The total number testing positive in the two counties now stands at 13,067.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is now 12,305, up by 277 the OSDH said. In Pottawatomie County, 8,815 have recovered and 3,490 have recovered in Lincoln County.
The OSDH reported as of Aug. 18 statewide, 515,801people have tested positive, compared to 500,311 at the last report. There have been 7,676 Oklahoma provisional deaths, last week’s reporting showed 7,594. And active cases stand at 23,380. Last report they were 20,593.
The OSDH has stopped reporting total number of recovered statewide.
