CVEC hosts dinner, safety event for first responders

SEMINOLE, OK — In recognition of National Electrical Safety Month, Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) recently hosted a Dinner & Electrical Dangers event for local first responders. The event focused on electrical safety education while also providing an opportunity for departments and agencies to network and strengthen connections within the communities CVEC serves.

The event highlighted important electrical safety information that first responders may encounter while working emergency situations involving power lines, utility equipment, and electrical hazards. By bringing agencies together, the evening also encouraged collaboration and communication among departments that work to keep local communities safe.

“At CVEC, we are proud to host events that help improve the safety of our members, first responders, and the public,” said Jesse Murray, Safety Director at CVEC. “We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend and help make the event a success.”

Departments and agencies represented at the event included Strother Fire Department, Okfuskee County Emergency Management, Meeker Fire Department, Paden Fire Department, Pottawatomie County Emergency Management, and Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Canadian Valley Electric Cooperative remains committed to promoting electrical safety awareness and supporting the first responders and agencies that serve communities across the cooperative’s service area.
