Dale Board of Education meeting

Dale Board of Education members this week rehired School Supt. Will Jones and approved stipends for staff.

After spending some time in executive session, board members returned to open meeting. Board member Robin Wiley Greene said the board hired Jones back and extended his contract for another year.

Board members approved December one percent stipends and approved 25 plus years of stipends also.

As part of his superintendent’s report, Jones went over the financial report which board members later confirmed.

Warrants through November of 2025 are $3,088,357. Through November of 2024 they were $2,717,420. Jones noted the warrants were up some due to the technology investment that has been made.

The Building Fund Cash Balance through November of 2025 is $522,293 and in November of 2024 it was $417,969.

General Funeral Cash Balance in November of 2025 was $1,008,905 and in November of 2024 was $1,124,083.

State aid through November of 2025 is $1,590.122 compared with $1,510,146 in November of 2024, an increase of $79,976.

County Sales Tax Balance in November of 2025 is approximately $370,000 and in November of 2024 it was $195,071, up approximately $174,929 from a year ago.

November revenue was approximately $30,000. Total Operating Funds through November, (General plus building and county sales tax) for FY 23 was $1,479,637, FY 24 $1,737,123 and in FY 2025 is $1,901,198.

In their reports Elementary Principal Tamee Daniel advised board members 338 students are enrolled in grades Pre-K through 4th grade; Midd School Principal Kim Powell told them enrollment in grades 5 through 8 is 288 students and High School Principal Eric Muncy informed board members high school enrollment is 256.

Board members approved fund raisers. They also appointed board member Jennifer Herring as president for the sale of $940,000 taxable building bonds of the school district and set the sale for noon Jan. 21, 2026.
