Two felony charges for lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and one for sexual battery have been filed against a 38-year-old man.
The three counts were formally filed against Eric L. Kempf for alleged activity that went on at a residence in Tryon for two years.
A $75,000 bench warrant was issued on Sep. 24, a day after the charges were filed. Records show the warrant was returned and filed on Sep. 27.
His initial appearance has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 4. His bond remains at $75,000.
Count 1 accuses Kempf of between Jan. 1, 2016 and Dec. 27, 2016, at a residence in Tryon in Lincoln County of looking and touching the body of a child under 16.
In Count 2, he is charged with sexual battery, alleging that between Dec. 28, 2016 and Aug. 30, 2018 at a residence in Tryon of looking and touching the body of the same child in a lewd and lascivious matter without her consent.
The third felony count accuses him of between Jan. 1, 2016 and Aug. 30, 2018, at a residence in Tryon looking and touching the body of a different child under 16 in a lewd and lascivious matter.
The two counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 each carry a state prison term between 3 and 20 years if Kempf is convicted.
The sexual battery charge is punishable up 10 years in state prison if Kempf is convicted.
