Guilty plea in harboring case

A Prague woman facing a harboring from justice charge has pleaded guilty to the charge and drawn a deferred sentence except some time to be served in the county jail.

Whitney Harrison, 34 at the time and from Prague, was charged July 29, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court.

Appearing before District Judge Traci Soderstrom on May 23, Harrison entered a plea of not guilty and waived a speedy trial. The judge set the cause for the felony disposition docket on Sep. 26, the jury trial call docket on Oct. 13 and her jury trial for 9 a.m. on Oct. 16.

Appearing before District Judge Traci Soderstrom on Aug. 15, Harrison, withdrew her previous plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty upon the state’s recommendation.

Judge Soderstrom received the plea, found her guilty as charged and deferred sentencing for five years save and except 20 consecutive weekends to be served in the Lincoln County jail. Her first report date was Aug. 18.

The judge also ordered a $100 judicial assessment, $100 VCA, and court costs. She is to testify consistent with her preliminary hearing, perform 100 hours of Community Service, pay 991C fees and she was placed on supervised probation with the Oklahoma Court Services.

Harrison was accused of harboring Kenneth Gale Simon, 37 at the time, of Prague when she in fact knew law enforcement officers were looking for Simon for the purpose of executing warrants.

Harrison had been previously charged May 26, 2022 in Lincoln County District Court along with Simon and Kaleb Burleson, then 19.

She was charged at that time with conspiracy and knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property.

State prosecutors had moved to dismiss those charges against her without cost.

Simon, originally charged with operating/ dealing with a chop shop, conspiracy and knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property. Simon has since pleaded guilty to those charges and is currently doing prison terms that were ordered to run concurrently with one another.
