Lincoln County 4-H hosts Demonstration Contest

Lincoln County 4-H members competed at the County Demonstration Contest in Agra on Feb. 10, with many ribbons being awarded to the best presentations.

The contest was organized to help students and children in 4-H practice and develop their public speaking skills, a press release from the Lincoln County Extension Office said. Participants were judged on presentation, effectiveness and preparation.

In the Advanced Group 3 Division, Brianna and JadeWakelyfromChandler received first place and a Blue Ribbon Award for their team demonstration on Horse Photography.

In Immediate Group 3, Annabell McCarley from Chandler received first place and a Blue Ribbon Award for her demonstration, “Forensic Science - How to Crack the Case.” Kodi Fesler from Prague always received the Blue Ribbon Award for “How to Make Soup.”

In Beginners Group 1, Bellamy Little from Meeker received first place and a Blue Ribbon Award for her demo of “Banana Chocolate Muffin,” while Aurora Little from Meeker received a Blue Ribbon Awardforher“TunaSalad” demonstration. For Beginners Group 3, Merrady Murray from Chandler received first place and a Blue RibbonAward for “How to Crochet a Dishcloth. Other Blue Ribbon Awards went to Kooper Fesler from Prague for “How to Clip a Chicken’sWing,”Addyson Prough from Chandler for “Equipment Needed for the Sheep Project,” Clayton Prough from Chandler for “How to Make a Predator Call,” and Bellamy Little from Meeker for “Air-Dry Pottery.” Kylee Wakely from Chandler received a Red Ribbon Award for her demonstration, “Intro to Music.”

Clovers were invited to participate, but weren’t ranked competitively. Those who took part are: Graham McCarley from Chandler, Rosie McCarley from Chandler, Raylee Prough from Chandler, Danny Taylor from Chandler, Bronwyn Little from Meeker and Brett Fesler from Prague.
