Lincoln County Democrats to host precinct meetings and county convention

The Lincoln County Democratic Party is calling for all interested members to participate in the 2021 recinct meetings and ounty convention scheduled to occur 10 a.m., Saturday, April 3, via Zoom meeting. The meetings are being held via Zoom due to continued presence of the coronavirus in Lincoln County.

Any Lincoln County Democrat interested in participating in the the meetings can call Chair Bob Hightower (405-830-0225), Co-Chair Toni Riner (405-258-8877), or Secretary Tony Perna (918-374-2651) for access to the Zoom meetings.

This is the opportunity that happens every two years for Democrats across Oklahoma to rebuild the State party from the local level up. Participation in precinct meetings gives members a chance to choose precinct officers from their neighborhood, present resolutions and discuss items of interest to them. The precinct officers will become voting members to the County Convention, which will immediately follow on Zoom.

Members at the County Convention will elect new Central Committee officers (Chair, Co-Chair and Secretary). Additional delegates will also be elected to represent Lincoln County at the upcoming District and Oklahoma Democratic Party State Convention.

Participants in the county convention will also discuss any resolutions that have been submitted at the precinct meetings and vote on whether to send those resolutions to the State Convention. The delegates chosen at the County convention will help select leadership for the Oklahoma Democratic Party at the State Convention.

Due to the continued spread of the coronavirus, the Lincoln County Democratic Party will not meet in March.
