Local biz awards $2,500 in scholarships to 3 LinCo students

Three students from Lincoln County were awarded scholarships from Mint Turbines in Stroud in May.

Makenna Hall of Stroud, Peyton Gaylord of Davenport and Andrew Clovis of Stroud received the 2024 Rob Ruck Scholarship, which awarded $2,500 to each, according to a press release.

The scholarship is named thepresidentandCOOofM International, Robert Ruck. It recognizes exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements, the press release said. Puck presented the awards to the students at the Stroud Awards Ceremony in May.

“We are proud to support these remarkable students who have demonstrated exemplary dedication to their education and communities,” Ruck said in the release. “This scholarship is our way of giving back to the community that has supported us throughout the years and allows us to invest in the future leaders of our society.”

The scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 and is open to any student pursuing higher education in any field.

“Mint Turbines’ commitment to fostering educational growth and community involvement is reflected in this scholarship,” said Mint Turbines Vice President and General Manager David Norton. “We are excited to see what the future holds for these talented individuals.”

Mint Turbines is a leading aircraft turbine engine maintenance, repair and overhaul service provider in the M International network. It’s based in Stroud and operates as an independent FAA-certified repair station.
