Meeker keeps administrators

Meeker’s Board of Education this week voted to offer contracts to four administrators for the 20232024 school year and accepted the retirements of two elementary teachers.

Following an executive session, the board returned to open meeting and voted to offer contracts to High School Principal Brad Buxton; Middle School Principal Rodney Treat; Virtual/Alternative Education Director Ginger Pritchard; and Athletic Director Brad Seaborn.

Board members also accepted the retirements of Elementary School Teachers June Criss and Nancy Moss.

They also hired adjunct teacher Jocie Wilson for the fifth grade.

School Supt. Jeff Pruitt said prior to the meeting that Buxton and Counselor John Bolander are sharing the responsibilities of elementary principal in the interim. He explained both have elementary certifications.

The board, during its January meeting, authorized Pruitt to hire an interim elementary principal following the resignation of Candice Gatz in December who was serving in that position.

Board members also approved several policy updates.
