Chandler High School announced the September Lions of the Month are Bradley Beloncik and Ahna Smith.
Bradley is the son of Jacalyn Allen and J.J. Beloncik. He holds a 4.00 GPA. Beloncik has received the Academic Excellence Award for three years and has been on the Superintendent Honor Roll for three years. He has also received the Geometry Excellence Award and has been selected as the Junior Candidate for Basketball Homecoming.
His activities include basketball, baseball, Positive Peers, Student Council, BancFirst Student Board, the Health and Fit Committee and the Safe School Committee. Beloncik’s community involvement includes Little League Baseball Summer Camp and making cards for the nursing home with Positive Peers.
After graduation at Chandler High School, Beloncik plans to pursue an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing at Rose State College.
He then plans to get a job and get a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
Ahna Smith is the daughter of Brian and Shannon Smith. She holds a 4.0 GPA and takes advanced courses in English. She has attended the Academic Banquet for four years. She has also been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years and the Oklahoma Honor Society for four years. Smith has been named an OSSAA Pom Academic State Champion for three years and she has been named to the BancFirst Student Board of Directors.
She is involved in Pom, Positive Peers, Postponing Sexual Involvement and National Honor Society. She has served as the National Honor Society Vice President and Pom Captain.
Smith has also been to Girls State and served as a Student Council Representative.
Smith’s community involvement includes Relay For Life, Angel Tree, Walk For Warriors, putting together Thanksgiving baskets for Helping Hands, cleaning the garden at the museum, making Christmas cards for the veterans at the Veterans Hospital and helping with the Student Council Veterans Day programs.
After graduation Smith plans to attend Oklahoma State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing.
