The American Legion Auxiliary held its April meeting on Tuesday, April 5th. The meeting was rescheduled from the Auxiliary’s regular meeting time which is the first Monday of each month.
Members attending were Marsha Morgan, Linda Waller, Thelma Mauldin, Aleta Smalley, Julie Bivin, Jo Braden, Diana Reed and Keturah Brown. Members voted to hold the annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30th at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
Auxiliary members will be at the Legion building on April 13th at 2:00 p.m. to count flags for the veteran’s graves at the cemetery. Members will also work on cleaning the Legion. Anyone who would like to help with these activities is invited to attend. The placing of the flags at the cemetery is scheduled for May 26th at 9:00 a.m.
The public is invited to help with this project, too. The Auxiliary’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion building. Members are encouraged to invite a prospective member. Cookies and punch will be served and there will be a short program detailing the activities of the Auxiliary. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to attend this meeting.
