A Stroud man died in a two-vehicle, head-on collision south of Crescent in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.
State Trooper Michael Wallace of the Traffic Homicide Unit identified the Stroud man as Kim L. Flatt, 32.
The trooper reported that Flatt was pronounced dead at the scene by the Crescent Fire Department. He was transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.
Wallace said that Flatt was driving a 2016 Chevy Impala.
The other driver involved was identified as Ralph C. Krehbiel, 71, of Enid. He was transported by Medi Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with trunk internal and leg injuries and listed in critical condition, Wallace reported.
Krehbiel was driving a 2014 Buick LaCrosse, the trooper said.
The trooper stated the collision occurred on SH 74 approximately 2/10 of a mile north of SH 33, two miles south of Crescent.
Wallace said the Buick was traveling northbound on SH 74 and the Impala was going southbound. He reported the Buick driven by Krehbiel crossed the center line striking the Impala driven by Flatt head-on.
Both drivers were pinned for an unknown amount of time, the trooper stated, being freed by the Guthrie Fire Department.
Condition of both drivers at the time of the collision is under investigation, the trooper said. Cause of the crash is listed as under investigation as well.
