I must remind you that you do not want to miss the Andrew Sisters tribute trio coming to Stroud on November 11 in honor of our veterans.
The event is being sponsored by RCB Bank, Banc First, Stroud American Legion Auxiliary Unit #257, and Town Talk Volunteers. The show will kick off at 7:00 P.M. All American Legion members will be admitted free of charge.
All other veterans and service members who show a Military ID or wear their uniform hat will also be admitted free of charge. Donations of $20 are being asked from all others for admission which will help defray the cost of the Bugle Boy Statue that will be placed in Ed Smalley Centennial Park in December.
Grand Ole’ Opry Guest Artist and award-winning musician, Kyle Dillingham, who reigns as Oklahoma’s Ambassador of Music will be performing this Saturday night at 7:30 in Bristow at the Freeland Center of Performing Art.
He has represented America with his fiery performance in more than forty countries. Tickets are $18.00 and all are general admission. Many of you may remember Kyle when he performed for us during the cellar series at Territory Cellars. He is an exciting performer and one event you won’t want to miss.
Main Street is looking quite festive these days. Town Talk Andrea Thompson of Unique Market is spearing the decorating and is putting in long hours to make sure locals and visitors alike “fall for Stroud.”
Julie Bivin and I are helping, but she is taking the bulk of the responsibility and is doing a fantastic job! City Manager Bob Pearman supplied home grown pumpkins, corn stalks and hay bales which was a tremendous help and a big money saver for Town Talk. Drive down Main Street and check it out.
Our hope is our community will appreciate the effort put forth and will help us make sure everything remains intact. Hopefully, it might inspire more volunteers who would like to help.
The Stroud Middle School took on the Kellyville Ponies Monday night and chalked up another win for the Tigers.
The 6th Graders played a 5th Quarter scrimmage immediately following the game. The High School Junior Varsity won their game with a 22-19 score. The High School Tigers will face the Allen Mustangs Friday night here in Stroud at the Jack Poskey field with kick off at 7:00 P.M. This will be a District game.
Town Talk wants to send out a big shout out to one of its favorite volunteers, John Owens.
He gave us a big scare and has been a little under the weather lately but is improving daily according to his day care nurse, Charla.
Town Talk can always count on John for help with its many projects plus we just plain like that talented guy! Get well soon, John. We can’t do without you!
If you like the decorations you see on Main Street, just remember the items were purchased right here in Stroud, OK. It’s time to fall in love with our merchants and show our appreciation to them by giving them our business.
Thank you for choosing to shop local first…
