Trial for sex crimes suspect

A 59-year-old man facing multiple charges for alleged sex crimes against minors in two different cases has been set for a felony disposition docket and jury trial in one of the cases.

Mark Leon Miller, Sr., of Midwest City, appeared before District Judge Sarah Bridge March 25 on formal charges filed against him on Aug. 15, 2024 in Lincoln County District Court.

They included enabling child sexual abuse, enabling child sexual exploitation and child neglect.

Judge Bridge has set him for the felony disposition docket at 9 a.m. on Apr. 29 and a jury trial at 9 a.m. on June 2.

His bond in that case is set at $100,000.

Miller was formally charged again in Lincoln County District Court Feb. 20, 2025 with a total of 11 sex-related crimes against a child under 16 and one count of pattern of criminal offenses.

Special Judge Emily Mueller set Miller’s bond at $200,000 on Feb. 6 this year. He made his initial appearance on Feb. 20.

At his pre-preliminary hearing on March 13, Judge Mueller scheduled his preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. on April 10.

Specifically, Miller faces two counts of rape by instrumentation, nine counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and the single charge of pattern of criminal offenses.

Court records show that a $200,000 bench warrant for Miller’s arrest was issued on Feb. 5 of this year.

According to the information contained in the charges, on around and between Jan. 1, 2020 and Dec. 31, 2023, Miller committed the crime of Engaging in a Pattern of Criminal Offenses in two or more counties by committing two or more criminal offenses that are part of the same plan, scheme or adventure by committing the crimes of rape in the first degree by instrumentation and lewd acts with a child under 16 in Lincoln and Oklahoma counties.

In a probable cause affidavit, District Attorney Investigator Tony Foreman states that on July 23, 2024 he was contacted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and asked to assist on an investigation involving the rape of a 12-year-old girl.

The victim reportedly was forensically interviewed at the CACCO on July 23, 2024 where she made disclosure of being raped and sodomized by a man who was a registered sex offender and had an address in Harrah in Lincoln County.

On July 24, 2024 Foreman advised he went to the victim’s home as part of the followup investigation into the rape by that registered sex offender.

On that same date, Foreman states he was advised by the Oklahoma City Police Department that the registered sex offender had been found dead in his vehicle from apparent self-inflicted wounds.

Foreman, who headed up the investigation, stated that the victim was forensically interviewed a second time on Aug. 1, 2024 due to further outcry of lewd acts and rape against the registered sex offender and the new allegations against Miller.

Foreman said new disclosures about Miller were revealed by the victim on Jan. 13. 2025.

A forensic interview was scheduled for the victim on Feb. 3, 2025 and she disclosed additional information.
