The Wellston Town Board approved a bid for a new roof on the library at a special meeting on Sept. 17.
Board members present at the meeting were Brandon Hunt, Paul Whitnah and Butch Melrose.
The Board approved a bid from Sullivan Roofing to replace the library roof for up to $47,000 unanimously, as well as a resolution adopting a formal policy and procedure for the filing, receipt, documentation, review, investigation and resolution of citizen complaints concerning town employees, officials, departments and services.
The Board entered into executive session to discuss two personnel items. When they returned, they approved the hiring of Chris Fitzwater as a full-time streets employee and the resignation of Terry Leslie as a full-time streets employee.
The Board also approved a permit for Trunk or Treat 2026, and building permits for a shop at 406 Dogwood and a carport at 116 Key Drive.
Other items approved include surplusing an old John Deere mower and the 2027 dates for Board, Court, Holidays, Planning and Cemetery. The Board tabled a decision on rebuilding or replacing the motor in a Jacobson lawn mower.
July sales tax was $59,239.10 and July Use Tax was $10,993.58.
