Assessor’s inspections start soon

Personnel from the Lincoln County Assessor’s Office are starting the visual inspection of real property as required by state law. County Assessor Jackie Holcomb stated that this visual inspection will not require contact between her employees and property owners.

Holcomb said that the visual inspections will be done by driving by properties or walking down the street. Deputy Assessors will be driving vehicles with signs identifying them as from the assessor’s office. Also, the visual inspectors will wear identification badges with photos.

“The law requires us to visually inspect property so we are required to do this at this time,” said Holcomb. “However, we don’t want to endanger the citizens of the county or any of our employees during this time of medical caution,” she said.
