Chandler plans Veterans Day activities

On Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, the City of Chandler will join others across the nation in celebrating and honoring all those who have served and/or continue to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

The day’s events will begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast served to veterans at First United Methodist Church, 122 W. 10 th St., Chandler.

Parade line up for the Veterans Day Parade will be 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion Building at Tilghman Park. Patricia Mathes-Kerr was chosen as the Grand Marshal of the parade, which will go through downtown Chandler and to the schools. Citizens are encouraged to line the streets with American flags in support of our veterans.

The Chandler Veterans Day Luncheon is open to everyone and will be served at 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Building.

All veterans, their spouses and active-duty military are free. Nonmilitary can join them for $10 each.

At 1 p.m., there will be a reception for veterans at the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History on Manvel Ave.
