A pre-preliminary hearing has been set for a Chandler woman facing a felony and two misdemeanors as the result of a traffic stop conducted by Chandler police in late February.
Jonstella Ashlyn Neal, 25, was formally charged Feb. 28 in Lincoln County District with bringing contraband into a jail, a felony.
The two misdemeanors are possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On that date, Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled her pre-preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. May 12.
The felony count accuses Neal of on Feb. 21 this year bringing a quantity of methamphetamine into the Lincoln County jail without lawful authority to do so.
Count 2, a misdemeanor, charges her with unlawfully possessing methamphetamine in Lincoln County on the same day.
The other misdemeanor accuses her of on the same day of possessing a pipe used to smoke, ingest and consume methamphetamine.
Neal was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Chandler Police Officer Brent Berry due to a headlight being out.
Berry requested assistance from Lt. Dax Phipps who arrived and helped Berry conduct the search of the vehicle along with Neal and the man who was driving the car.
