Trustees of the Chandler Scholars Fund have announced the fund’s 31st grant recipient is Abbigaile Cherry, a 2020 member of the Chandler High School graduating class. She is the daughter of Hunter and Misty Cryer.
Cherry was one of the class’ valedictorians and was a student member of Lions Club, Rotary and the BancFirst Board of Directors. She will pursue an accounting degree from Governor’s Western University.
The fund was created in the 1970s as a trust to provide annual grants to Chandler High School graduates.
Trustee organizations are the Chandler Alumni Association, Chandler Business Women, Chandler Lions Club and Chandler Rotary Club.
The fund also has been supported by individual donors, contributions in honor of former teachers and other memorials.
