Comm. take no action on opening courthouse

Lincoln County Commissioners this week decided to take no additional action yet beyond what they did earlier to open back up the courthouse in Chandler.

County Clerk Alicia Wagnon told commissioners she listed an agenda item that called for an amendment to COVID-19 related restrictions upon entrance to the courthouse.

Commission Chairman Lee Doolen suggested, “We continue to do what we’ve been doing until the next meeting,” adding, “there is no action needed.”

During their May 18 meeting, commissioners adopted a resolution and screening form in support of the reopening of the Courthouse that took place on May 4.

Doolen said during the May 4 meeting he was reopening the courthouse immediately and the other commissioners and elected officials agreed.

He emphasized in that meeting each individual officer would decide the requirements and those will be posted on the front doors of the offices. He indicated probably only one to two persons at a time would be allowed in an office.

The courthouse, like many others across the state, had been closed for nearly two months due to COVID-19 the Coronavirus.

In their meeting this week, the Commission adopted a resolution authorizing additional revenues collected by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority fee schedule to be deposited into the general fund.

They took no action on an agenda item that would authorize the Southwest Lincoln County Fire District to charge a fee for OMMA Compliance Certificates. There was considerable discussion on the item before they agreed no action was possible at this time.

They also decided against taking any action to approve implementation of a policy for a Lincoln County zoning/ordinance certification letter.

But commissioners agreed on implementation of a policy for Certificate of Compliance for OMMA businesses.

They also decided nothing was needed for now on approving a fee schedule for OMMA and zoning/ordinance certification letters.

Commissioners took no action on adopting a resolution authorizing the Industrial Development Authority to withdraw their funds from the county by requisition and to manage their finances as required by the Authority’s Trust Indenture.
