COVID cases rise in Pott., Lincoln counties

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties has continued to rise in the last week, the OSDH reports.

Two additional deaths have been reported in Pottawatomie County, the OSDH said.

The very latest death in Pottawatomie County is a male in the 65 and older age group, the OSDH said. Information on the other death within the last week wasn’t available on Tuesday.

The number of deaths in Pottawatomie County attributed to the virus is now 16.

The number of deaths in Lincoln County still stands at 22, the same as a week ago.

There have been 38 deaths between the two counties caused by the virus. That’s two more from last week.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 164 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 65, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Lincoln County’s number on Tuesday was 859. A week ago it was 794. Two weeks ago it was 723 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County as of Tuesday this week stood at 2,375. Last Tuesday it was 2,211. The county’s total two weeks ago was 1,939.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 229 people in the last seven days. Last week that figure was 343 over the previous seven days, so the increase was not as much.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 3,234, according to the OSDH.

A week ago that number stood at 3,005. Two weeks ago the number was 2,662.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 2,751, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 2,021 have recovered and 730 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday, 126,526 have tested positive, there have been 1,375 deaths and 109,234 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 15,927, the OSDH said.

Last week there were 118,409 testing positive, there had been 1,273 deaths and 101,656 had recovered. There were 15,480 active cases a week ago.

On Tuesday of this week, the OSDH reported more than 1,331 new positive cases confirmed and 21 additional deaths.

The OSDH reports 1,520,813 have tested negative.
