Stroud Public Library will participate in the 2020 nation-wide collaborative summer reading program “Imagine Your Story,” albeit a little differently this year.
Registered participants will need to pick up craft packs at the library and watch online videos of stories and craft instructions at home this June. Please register toddlers to 5th graders by May 30th so we can prepare your craft supplies. We are also excited to have additional stories available online for older audiences. Please check cityofstroud.com/read in June.
The library opened doors to the public May 4th with a few operational changes. For the near future, the building capacity is limited to 10, including staff. We are asking visitors to wear a mask and to follow the 6’ foot social distancing guideline. We encourage you to wear gloves when browsing books, which we will provide while supplies last.
Computer use is limited to essential activities and only two patron computers are available. In addition, time limits may apply to computer use. If you just need to print something, please let us print it for you, so you do not have to touch the computers. The computer hardware, such as the mouse and keyboard, are cleaned between uses.
Returned materials will not be available for check out until a four day sanitization period has passed. Restroom facilities and the conference room are unavailable at this time. The library is also continuing curbside service for those who need this option.
48 new books will be available next week. Titles include: Walk the Wire by David Baldacci; Blue Moon by Lee Child; Carrow Haunt by Darcy Coates; Artemis Fowl Series 1-6 by Eoin Colfer; Michael Crichton’s Andromeda Revolution; Guardians by John Grisham; Hidden Salem by Kay Hooper; Sisters by Choice by Fern Michaels on audio; 1 fatal flaw by Anne Perry. Find a complete list in our online catalog, which may still be used to reserve books: cityofstroud.com/librarycatalog.
