Bench warrants have been returned and filed on a woman from Meeker and a man from Shawnee who have been charged with felony child abuse.
Megan Marie Nash, 35, Meeker and Jonathon Lee Nice, 36, Shawnee were formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Sep. 22.
A $25,000 bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Nash and a $50,000 bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Nice.
Nash made her initial appearance on Oct. 5 and Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled the matter for Dec. 21.
Nice also made his initial appearance on Oct. 5 .
Judge Mueller has set matter for Dec. 21.
They are accused of between June 29, 2023 and July 6, 2023 of conjointly committing the crime of child abuse by willfully injuring a child under 18 by striking a 6-year-old in the leg with a belt, causing injury at 341573 E. 1020 Road in Meeker.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Lori Mc-Connell shows that Nice was convicted on May 5, 2021, in Pottawatomie County District Court with felony Domestic violence by Strangulation.
